Admission at Campus Durgapur
B.Tech.
Admissions are made through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEE) and Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by CBSE Board through Online Counseling under the directives of Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Admission through Lateral Entry for Diploma Holders in the 2nd year (Third Semester) level of the B.Tech Programme is limited to a maximum 20% of the sanctioned intake in each discipline. Such seats are filled from merit listed candidates of JELET examination conducted by WBJEEB, Kolkata.
Eligibility Criteria: Both JEM and AIEEE merit listed candidates shall have to adhere to the cut-off marks in qualifying examination (10+2) i.e., at least 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics for Engineering, being compulsory subjects with pass mark in each of those individual subjects (as per AICTE Norms) and pass marks (30%) in English.
MCA
Admissions are made through an Entrance Examination (JECA) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board and allotment on the basis of merit listed candidates qualified in JECA entrance exam.
EligibilityCriteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under (10+2+3) system with Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level
MBA
Admissions are made through MAT/ CMAT/WB-JEMAT (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination) qualifiers. The candidate has to present himself/herself at the college after qualifying the examination. Selections are made through GD/PI and on the basis of academic performance plus score obtained at MAT/CMAT/WB-JEMAT examination. Final year candidates who have appeared for the above examination and awaiting their graduation results can also apply. However, such candidates have to produce their marksheets and relevant documents before their admission to the institute.
EligibilityCriteria: Graduation in any discipline under (10+2+3) with 50% marks .
The candidate must present himself / herself for admission at the Institute, within 3 days of counseling/allotment ( in case of WB-JEMAT) or else allotment of the candidate will stand null and void.
M.Tech in Biotechnology
Admissions are made on the basis of an entrance exam (PGET) conducted by West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. The merit listed candidates are allotted through counselling held by the University. GATE and GPAT candidates are exempted from appearing in the PGET exam but they are required to send their admission form to the University along with all valid documents within cut off date. Other conditions as per notification from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata.
Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech/ B.E. in Biotechnology/ Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering/ Industrial Biotechnology/ Leather Technology/Chemical Technology (Food/Pharma)
OR
M.Sc in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Botany,Zoology, Biochemistry/ Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics/Microbial Genetics & Bioinformatics/Bioengineering.
M.Tech in CSE
Eligibility Criteria : 1st Class in B.Tech./ B.E./ Equivalent Degree in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, EIE, Instrumentation & Control, M.Sc. & M.S. (IT) / M.Sc. (CS) / M.Sc. & M.S. Software Engineering & MCA (OR) any equivalent degree.
M.Tech in ECE
Eligibility criteria: 1st Class in B.Tech / B.E./ AMIE /Equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Electrical Engineering/CSE with communication as a specialization OR 1st class M.Sc in Electronics from any recognized University/ Institutions.
Note: Candidates with valid GATE score and meritorious students will get preference in admission.
